Masoor prices showed a firm trend during the current week, driven by subdued selling pressure and improved demand. Limited market availability spurred buyer activity at lower and prevailing price levels, providing consistent support to prices. Arrivals of Masoor in producing markets remain restricted. Reduced fresh selling has eased the pressure on existing market stocks, while increased inquiries from pulse millers have accelerated buying activity. However, buying interest at higher price levels remains cautious, limiting the scope for a sharp, one-sided rally for now.

Imported Masoor prices rose by ₹50 per quintal this week, supported by reduced selling from importers and increased buying interest. By the weekend, prices stood at ₹5,750–5,800 per quintal for Mundra-origin Canadian Masoor, ₹5,900 for Hazira, ₹6,100–6,150 for containerized Canadian Masoor, and ₹6,150 for Australian Masoor.

Prices of Masoor in Madhya Pradesh saw fluctuations of up to ₹100 per quintal amidst sluggish buying and selling activity. By the weekend, prices per quintal stood at ₹5,800–₹6,200 in Ashoknagar, ₹6,200–₹6,500 in Bina, ₹6,000–₹6,400 in Ganjbasoda, ₹6,000–₹6,250 in Sagar, ₹5,900–₹6,350 in Damoh, ₹6,100 in Indore, ₹5,500–₹6,845 in Kareli, and ₹6,550–₹6,600 in Katni.

Due to sluggish buying and selling activity, there was no significant fluctuation in Masoor (red lentil) prices in Uttar Pradesh this week. By the weekend, prices per quintal were ₹10,100 for small-grain and ₹6,800–₹6,850 for bold-grain varieties in Bareilly; ₹6,200–₹6,300 for bold-grain and ₹8,800–₹9,200 for small-grain varieties in Lalitpur; and ₹5,900–₹6,300 in Orai.

Prices of Masoor in Bihar remained unchanged due to sluggish demand. By the weekend, prices per quintal stood at ₹7,100 in Barh, ₹7,000 in Khusrupur, and ₹7,100 in Mokama. Meanwhile, a softening of ₹50 was recorded in Raipur Masoor prices, settling at ₹6,500 per quintal.

There was no significant change in Masoor Dal prices during the current week due to sluggish buying interest. By the weekend, prices per quintal were ₹7,100–₹7,250 in Indore, ₹7,900–₹8,100 in Barh, ₹7,800–₹8,000 in Khusrupur, ₹7,900–₹8,100 in Mokama, ₹8,700 in Chandausi, and ₹7,550 in Hyderabad.
