सरकार दाल आयात नीति यथावत रखने के पक्ष में
★नई दिल्ली – केंद्र सरकार 31 मार्च के बाद भी मौजूदा दाल आयात नीति जारी रख सकती है, क्योंकि बाजार में अभी कोई बड़ा दबाव नहीं दिख रहा है।
★तूर, चना और उड़द का आयात ड्यूटी फ्री है, मसूर पर 10% और पीली मटर पर 30% शुल्क जारी है, जबकि मूंग का आयात प्रतिबंधित है। भारत हर साल करीब 50-60 लाख टन दालें आयात करता है।
★सरकार का मानना है कि पर्याप्त घरेलू उपलब्धता, चल रही सरकारी खरीद और संतुलित आयात से सप्लाई स्थिति आरामदायक बनी हुई है। सरकारी भंडार करीब 22 लाख टन है, जो बफर से कम होने के कारण खरीद की गुंजाइश भी रखता है।
★पीली मटर पर ऊंचे शुल्क को लेकर समीक्षा की चर्चा है—या तो शुल्क घट सकता है या आयात सीमित किया जा सकता है। मसूर आयात बाजार के अनुसार ही हो रहा है, जिससे घरेलू कीमतों पर दबाव नहीं है।
★संभावित एल-नीनो पर सरकार नजर रखे हुए है, और आगे की नीति IMD के मानसून पूर्वानुमान के बाद तय हो सकती है।

Government likely to maintain status quo on pulses import policy
★New Delhi – The central government is expected to continue the existing pulses import policy beyond March 31, as there is no significant pressure in the market at present.
★Imports of tur, chana, and urad remain duty-free, while masur attracts 10% duty and yellow peas 30%. Imports of moong continue to be restricted. India imports around 5–6 million tonnes of pulses annually.
★The government believes that comfortable domestic availability, ongoing procurement, and steady imports are keeping the supply situation balanced. Current government stocks are around 2.2 million tonnes, below the buffer norm, leaving room for further procurement.
★There is also a discussion on reviewing high duties on yellow peas—either duties may be rationalised or imports could be restricted. Meanwhile, masur imports are aligned with market demand and are not putting pressure on domestic prices.
★The government is closely monitoring the possibility of El Niño, and further policy decisions may be taken after the monsoon forecast by the India Meteorological Department.
