The USDA reported a private export sale of 136,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 marketing year this morning.
During the Pro Farmer Crop Tour, the average soybean pod count in a 3-by-3-foot area in South Dakota was 945.98 pods, down 20.4% from last year and 12.07% below the three-year average. In Ohio, the count was 1,197.25 pods, down 6.99% from last year and 4.74% below the three-year average. Results for Indiana and Nebraska will be released later this evening.
According to the weekly Crop Progress report, NASS-rated soybean conditions good to excellent fell 1 percentage point to 61%. The Brugler500 Index was unchanged at 361. Conditions declined in South Dakota (-13), Minnesota (-8), Indiana (-6), and Missouri (-3), as well as in Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Slight improvements were reported in Iowa (+2), Nebraska (+4), North Dakota (+9), and Ohio (+3).
According to ANEC, Brazil’s soybean exports are estimated at 10.56 million metric tons, down 0.32 million tons from last week’s estimate.
