News Capsule: Conab Raises Brazil Corn Production Estimate to 142.95 Million Tonnes
★ Brazil’s Conab raised its 2025/26 corn production estimate by 1.2 million tonnes to 142.95 million tonnes in its August report, up 1.3% from the previous season.
★ The increase was mainly driven by a larger safrinha crop, now estimated at 111.03 million tonnes. Safrinha corn accounts for 77.6% of Brazil’s total corn production.
★ Conab slightly lowered its 2025/26 soybean production estimate to 180.46 million tonnes, still 5.2% higher than last year. Soybean acreage is estimated at 48.61 million hectares.
