The Pro Farmer Crop Tour began Monday. In South Dakota, the average corn yield was 149.09 bushels per acre, down 14.41% from last year and 8.37% below the three-year average. In Ohio, the yield was 180.18 bushels per acre, down 2.97% from last year and 2.25% below the three-year average. Results for Indiana and Nebraska will be released later this evening.
In the weekly Crop Progress report, U.S. corn rated good to excellent fell 1 percentage point to 60%. The Brugler500 Index declined 3 points to 353. Crop conditions deteriorated in Kansas (-18), South Dakota (-13), Indiana (-9), Minnesota (-8), Wisconsin (-6), Colorado (-24), and Texas (-11). Conditions improved in Nebraska (+2), North Dakota (+17), Ohio (+7), Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, and Kentucky.
According to ANEC, Brazil’s August corn export estimate is 5.63 million metric tons, up 0.46 million tons from last week’s estimate.
