Weekly Soybean Market Review
New Delhi. During the week of March 21–27, soybean plant delivery prices in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan increased by ₹50 to ₹150 per quintal. However, prices in Maharashtra declined by up to ₹200 per quintal due to relatively weak demand in the state. Despite this, soybean prices in all three states remained above the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Soybean plant delivery prices were generally quoted at ₹5,600–5,700 per quintal, with the higher side reaching ₹5,800 per quintal, while the MSP for soybean is fixed at ₹5,328 per quintal.
Soy Refined Oil
Soy refined oil prices also showed strength in Madhya Pradesh, rising by ₹20–30 per 10 kg and generally remaining above ₹1,500 per 10 kg. In Maharashtra, the increase was around ₹15–20 per 10 kg. The price of soy oil in Kota rose by ₹40 to ₹1,540 per 10 kg, while in Mumbai it declined by ₹40 to ₹1,500 per 10 kg and in Kandla it fell by ₹10 to ₹1,520 per 10 kg.
Prices in international markets remained firm, which increased the import cost in India. The depreciation of the Indian rupee has also influenced the market.
Arrivals
Soybean arrivals in domestic mandis were about 150,000 bags on March 23, 140,000 bags on March 24, and 125,000 bags on March 25. Each bag is equivalent to 100 kg or one quintal.
Soy DOC
Trading in soy DOC remained weak, resulting in a decline of up to ₹500 per tonne in prices.
