New Delhi. Heavy arrivals of mustard are being seen in mandis across major producing states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. However, strong buying by oil millers as well as traders and stockists has kept the market sentiment firm, leading to continued strength in prices. Although mustard production is expected to increase significantly this year compared to last year, this has not created any negative psychological impact on the market so far.
42% Condition Mustard
During the week of March 21–27, the price of 42% condition mustard increased by ₹150 in Delhi to reach ₹6,950 per quintal, while in Jaipur it improved by ₹50 to ₹7,250 per quintal. In Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Kolkata as well, mustard prices generally rose by ₹100–200 per quintal. In Rajasthan, prices surged by ₹450 per quintal in Niwai and Tonk, while in Kota they declined by ₹100. In Uttar Pradesh, prices rose by ₹200 in Hapur and ₹100 in Agra.
Mustard Oil
Due to the higher prices of mustard seed, mustard expeller and kachchi ghani oil prices also increased by ₹2–6 per kg. In Delhi, expeller prices rose by ₹20 to ₹1,480 per 10 kg, in Charkhi Dadri by ₹30 to ₹1,480 per 10 kg, and in Jaipur by ₹40 to ₹1,470 per 10 kg. Prices of kachchi ghani mustard oil also increased by ₹60 per 10 kg. However, in Mumbai, expeller prices declined by ₹95.
Mustard Cake
Improved trading activity supported mustard cake prices, which rose by ₹100–200 per quintal, while the price of DOC remained weak.
