Mixed Price Trend Amid Normal Business
- Softening of export offer prices for rice has reduced buying interest from millers and exporters.
- Low arrival of non-Basmati paddy and declining supply of Basmati paddy.
- Paddy & rice prices fluctuated between ₹50-₹100 during the week.
State-wise Price Movement
Delhi:
- 1509 Hand Paddy (Narela Mandi): ↑ ₹75 to ₹2725 per quintal
- 1121 Paddy (Najafgarh Mandi): ↑ ₹90 to ₹4000/4200 per quintal
- Daily arrival: 10,000–15,000 bags
Chhattisgarh:
- Prices remained stable in Bhatapara & Rajim Mandis
- Limited arrival & normal business.
Punjab:
- Negligible paddy arrivals in Amritsar, Fazilka & Tarn Taran.
Uttar Pradesh:
- Steady supply of Basmati paddy in markets like Etah, Mainpuri, Jahangirabad, Gorakhpur, Shahjahanpur, Aligarh & Khair.
- Aligarh: Daily arrival of ~10,000 bags.
Rajasthan:
- Heavy arrival (50,000–60,000 bags/day) in Bundi & Kota Mandis.
- 1509 Paddy (Bundi): ↓ ₹200 to ₹2400/2500 per quintal
- Other varieties: ↓ ₹50-₹100 per quintal
Rice Market Trends
- Stable or slight softening in prices.
- Rajim: Slight price improvement.
- Amritsar, Nagar (Uttarakhand), Bundi & Karnal: Stable prices.
- Delhi (Naya Bazar): No major fluctuation.
- Holi festival led to reduced market activity.
Market Outlook
- Short-term pressure on paddy prices due to high arrivals in Rajasthan.
- Rice prices may remain stable, with potential softening if export demand stays weak.
- Market activity expected to pick up post-Holi.
