Chana prices fall due to increased selling pressure

New Delhi. Chickpea prices declined during the current week due to increased selling pressure at elevated prices and subdued buying. The market remained under pressure due to increased availability of chickpea at producing markets and ports, as well as sluggish demand from pulse millers. Chickpea is not receiving the expected support due to weak demand for chickpea dal and gram flour, which is hindering price stability. According to trade sources, stockists' activity remains limited due to high prices. Supply is expected to increase further in the coming days. After March 15, the arrival of new chickpeas will begin to accelerate in major markets in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which could further increase market pressure and lead to further declines in prices.
