Sugar Sales Quota of 13 Lakh Tonnes Released for the First Fortnight of November 2026

Sugar mills that commenced crushing in October are also permitted to sell sugar produced in October during the month of November.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution, under the Central Government, has set a sugar sales quota of 13 lakh metric tonnes (13 LMT) for the domestic market for the first fortnight of November 2026 (November 1 to 15).

According to the order issued by the government, sugar mills will be able to sell sugar in the domestic market within the stipulated quota of 13 lakh tonnes during the first fortnight of November.

Additionally, sugar mills that began sugarcane crushing operations during October 2026 have been permitted to sell the sugar produced during that month in November 2026.

This government decision will provide additional sales opportunities for sugar mills that have commenced new crushing operations and will help maintain the availability of sugar in the domestic market.
