New Delhi. Opposition parties have announced a massive rally to be held at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1, 2026, a move that has caused significant concern within the business community.
Currently, markets are witnessing a vibrant atmosphere in the lead-up to the Diwali festival; however, this proposed rally could have a severe, adverse impact on trade.
A leading trade organization, CTI, has claimed that the proposed rally on November 1st will disrupt business worth ₹10,000 crore, inevitably leading to substantial losses for traders. Notably, November 1st falls on a Sunday—a day considered crucial for Diwali-related shopping.
Furthermore, the fact that several of Delhi’s major markets are located within a 500-meter radius of Ramlila Maidan has further heightened the concerns of the business community. The CTI has urged that this rally be postponed.
