Celebration of the Ministry of Cooperation's 5th Foundation Day Today

New Delhi: A celebratory event marking the 5th Foundation Day of the Union Ministry of Cooperation is being held today, July 6, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, starting at 11:00 AM. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will attend as the chief guest and will launch, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stones for several significant projects related to the cooperative sector. Notably, the commodity market research firm 'iGrain India' has also been invited to participate in this celebration.

During this event, 50,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the country will be transformed into 'e-PACS'. This initiative is being viewed as a major step towards digital empowerment within the cooperative sector.

Several Union Ministers, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, senior officials from various ministries, and representatives of cooperative institutions and societies from across the country will be present at this significant event.

During the program, the Union Cooperation Minister is expected to oversee the handover of 135 grain storage godowns, the inauguration of 85 godowns/warehouses, and the laying of foundation stones for 47 new godowns. Additionally, other digital and institutional initiatives will be launched.
