The Kansas Crop Progress report showed winter wheat conditions declining by 6% to 40% rated good/excellent. The Brugler500 index also fell by 12 points to 316. The national Crop Progress report will be released next Monday.
Monday’s Export Inspections report showed 364,219 MT (13.38 million bushels) of wheat shipped during the week ending March 26. This was 20.73% higher than the previous week and 27.38% above the same week last year.
Japan was the largest destination with 107,579 MT, followed by Nigeria with 90,290 MT and Mexico with 85,263 MT.
Total wheat exports for the marketing year starting June 1 have now reached 20.295 MMT (745.72 million bushels), which is 16.7% higher than the same period last year.
Weather forecasts over the weekend shifted slightly westward, bringing moisture to more parts of the Plains region. Some areas in the western Plains are now expected to receive rainfall, with heavier precipitation forecast for the eastern sections.
The March Planting Intentions report is expected to show total U.S. wheat acreage at 44.79 million acres, down about 544,000 acres from last year.
Grain Stocks data is estimated to show wheat stocks at 1.31 billion bushels as of March 1, which would be 73 million bushels higher than a year ago.
