News Capsule: Rabi 2025-26: Record MSP Procurement of Pulses and Oilseeds Approved
★ The Agriculture Minister has approved record MSP procurement of pulses and oilseeds for the Rabi 2025-26 season in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.
★ Procurement will be carried out under the Price Support Scheme (PSS).
★ MSP procurement will cover key crops such as gram (chana), masoor (lentil), mustard, and kusum (safflower).
★ The total approved procurement value exceeds ₹11,698 crore.
★ Currently, market prices of chana and masoor are ruling below MSP, leading to higher procurement in several states.
★ In contrast, mustard prices are above MSP, resulting in relatively lower procurement.
