Wheat trade sluggish due to festive week

New Delhi. Wheat trading during the week of February 28th - March 6th was somewhat sluggish due to the festival of Holi, resulting in a slight increase or decrease of 15-30 rupees per quintal.
Delhi
Wheat prices improved by 15 rupees in Delhi to 2600/2615 rupees per quintal, and in Indore, they rose by 80 rupees to 2100/3080 rupees per quintal. On the other hand, prices declined by 65 rupees in Itarsi, 20 rupees in Bundi, 25 rupees in Gonda, and 30 rupees in Etah. Stability prevailed in other major markets across the country.
Sales
Government wheat sales under the OMSS have been discontinued. Storage limits on wheat have been lifted. The government has permitted the export of 2.5 million tons of wheat and 1 million tons of wheat products, but despite these positive measures, the wheat market is showing little activity.
Arrivals
Arrivals of new wheat are expected to pick up in the next few weeks. This year, production is expected to be better. Exporting wheat at current price levels is becoming difficult. The government has begun preparations for procurement.
