According to the first Crop Progress report of 2026, 3% of the US corn crop has been planted, which is ahead of the 5-year average of 2%. All reporting states are running ahead of the normal planting pace.
For the week ending April 2, US corn export shipments totaled 2.002 MMT (78.82 million bushels), which is 24.09% higher than the same week last year.
Mexico was the largest buyer with 540,498 MT, followed by Japan with 401,862 MT and Colombia with 200,076 MT.
Since September 1, total corn exports in the current marketing year have reached 48.47 MMT (1.908 billion bushels), which is 35.82% higher than the same period last year.
