Urad prices fall due to increased selling pressure

Chennai. During the current week, a downward trend has been observed in the prices of urad. Due to increasing selling pressure and weak demand in the market, a slowdown was seen on urad. Sporadic arrivals of new urad have started in the producing markets of Maharashtra and Karnataka. In view of the new arrivals, stockists and importers have intensified selling, which has created additional pressure on prices. Along with this, a decrease in sowing of urad has also been recorded in the Kharif season 2025.
