New Delhi. For the last few weeks, there was an atmosphere of wild increase in the price of mustard and due to a huge jump in the prices of oil and oil mills, the millers were not facing any difficulty in purchasing this oilseed at high prices. But during the week of 2-8 August, the demand weakened a bit, due to which the price of mustard fell by Rs 100-200 per quintal.

The most important producer state- Rajasthan's mandis also remained in the grip of softening of 50 to 100 rupees, but in Kota mandi, the price increased by 100 rupees to 6200/6700 rupees per quintal, while in Alwar it remained stable at 7100 rupees per quintal. In almost all the major mandis, the price of mustard is running above the minimum support price of 5950 rupees per quintal. The stock of mustard with government agencies has also decreased considerably, while it has been sold well.

Due to softening of mustard prices, the prices of expeller and Kachi Ghani mustard oil fell by up to Rs per 10 kg. In Delhi, the price of expeller fell by 30 rupees to 1580 rupees per 10 kg and in Jaipur, it fell by 40 rupees to 1560 rupees per 10 kg. Similarly, the price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil fell by Rs 20 to Rs 1625 in Ganganagar and by Rs 40 to Rs 1600 per 10 kg in Alwar. The price of mustard oil was also seen to be soft in other centers.

The business of mustard cake and DOC slowed down due to high prices, due to which an environment of stability was seen in its prices. Some units of Rajasthan increased the price of mustard cake by Rs 10 per quintal, but there was no increase in other mills.
