Urad prices improve due to increased buying
Chennai. Buying of Urad remained calm at the beginning of the week. But due to weakening of selling at reduced prices during the weekend and increased buying, Urad prices increased this week. Due to improvement in demand, Chennai Urad registered an increase of Rs. 50 in FAQ and Rs. 125 per quintal in SQ during the current week and with this increase, the price of FAQ became Rs. 9150 and SQ became Rs. 10025 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai Urad also saw an increase of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and the price became Rs. 9300 per quintal at the weekend.
 

Burma
 

Due to weakening of selling by exporters and increase in buying, Burma Urad FAQ and SQ increased by 10 $ and with this increase, the price at weekend became FAQ 1100 $ and SQ 1195 $ per ton.

Delhi

Due to support of rise in port prices and increase in demand from dal millers, Delhi Urad FAQ and SQ increased by 50 Rs and 75 Rs per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the price at weekend became FAQ 9500 Rs and SQ 10300 Rs per quintal. Madhya Pradesh
Due to weak selling and increased buying, the prices of Urad in Madhya Pradesh witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal in the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Ashoknagar Rs. 6500/8500, Ganjbasoda Rs. 5500/8500, Jabalpur Rs. 8000/9000 and Indore Rs. 9200/9800 per quintal.

Maharashtra

Due to sluggish buying, the prices of Urad in Maharashtra witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal during the last week and with this decline, the prices at the weekend became Akola Rs. 9550, Latur Rs. 8000/9400, Barshi Rs. 8500/9200, Jalgaon Rs. 8800/9200 and Ahmednagar Rs. 8500/9000 per quintal.

Other

Due to weak buying by pulses millers, Andhra Pradesh's Krishna District Urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 50 and Vijayawada Urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal in the last week and with this decline the price remained at Rs. 9850 for Krishna District and Rs. 9850 per quintal for Vijayawada at the weekend. Similarly, Raipur Urad also witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this decline the price remained at Rs. 9700/9800 per quintal at the weekend.
 

Urad Dal
 

Due to improvement in demand, prices of Urad Dal have improved by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this improvement, the prices at the weekend became Delhi Rs. 11300/12300, Bhatapara Rs. 12000/12100, Jalgaon Rs. 12600, Meerut Rs. 10600/11200 and Indore Rs. 12000/12600 per quintal.
