Pea prices fall due to sluggish demand

Kanpur. Pea prices declined during the current week due to increased selling pressure at higher prices and sluggish demand. Pressure was seen on pea prices due to increased availability of imported peas at the port and lack of customer support. Due to increased selling by importers and sluggish buying, imported pea prices declined by Rs 50/100 per quintal this week and the price remained at Mumbai Canada Rs 4250, Russia Rs 4100 and currency Canada Rs 4150/4175 and Russia Rs 4000/4050 per quintal at the weekend. Due to lack of customers, Kanpur pea prices declined by Rs 75 per quintal this week and with this decline, the price remained at Rs 4475/4500 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur peas also witnessed a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and the price remained at Rs. 3950/4150 per quintal at the weekend. Due to weak buying, Mahoba peas witnessed a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal and with this fall, the price remained at Rs. 4100/4300 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Rath peas also fell by Rs. 100 and Mauranipur by Rs. 150 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 4100/4200 at Rath and Rs. 3900/4100 per quintal at Mauranipur at the weekend.

Pea dal

Due to the impact of the fall in pea prices and sluggish buying, the prices of pea dal fell by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs. 5000/5050 at Kanpur and Rs. 5100/5300 per quintal at Indore at the weekend.
