Increased Arrivals of New Peanuts Bring Brightness Back to the Peanut Market

New Delhi. New peanut arrivals have begun to rapidly increase in markets across major producing states: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka, boosting trading activity and prices. During the week of October 11-17, peanut arrivals increased to 70,000 bags in Gondal, Gujarat, and 30,000 bags in Rajkot. Prices in Gondal improved by ₹50 to ₹4,750/₹6,250 per quintal, while prices in Rajkot remained stable at ₹5,000/₹6,000 per quintal.
Peanuts
Peanut prices remained stable at ₹5,200 per quintal in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and ₹6,600 per quintal in Solapur, Maharashtra. However, they increased by ₹500 each in Mahoba and Mauranipur, Uttar Pradesh, reaching ₹4,200/₹5,300 per quintal and ₹4,000/₹5,400 per quintal.
Jhansi
However, prices fell by ₹300 in Jhansi, reaching ₹4,200/₹5,200 per quintal. Arrivals of peanuts increased, reaching 30,000 bags in Jhansi, 15,000-16,000 bags in Mahoba, and 2,500 bags in Mauranipur.
Peanut Seeds
Due to weak trade in shelled peanut kernels, the price of 40/50 counts fell by Rs. 100 to Rs. 8,500 per quintal in Bikaner, and the price of 50/60 counts fell to Rs. 10,500 per quintal in Nagpur. The price of 60170 counts of peanut kernels also fell by Rs. 100 to Rs. 9,900 per quintal.
Peanut Oil
Due to normal demand for loose peanut oil, its price remained stable at Rs. 1,375 per 10 kg in Gujarat, while Rajasthan saw a decline of Rs. 20.
Branded Oil
The price of branded peanut oil remained unchanged at Rs. 2,300 per tin (15 liters) in Kota. Similarly, the price of filtered peanut oil remained stable at previous levels in Jaipur and Newai.
Peanut Oil Cake
Peanut oil cake was also not traded significantly, but DOC saw significant buying and selling, and prices rose by ₹1,000-1,500 per tonne. Arrivals of peanuts are expected to increase rapidly in the near future.
