Mustard prices soften in Delhi and Haryana, with some gains in MP, UP, and Rajasthan
New Delhi. Mustard prices fluctuated during the week of October 11-17, driven by arrivals in major producing states and buying by traders and oil millers. Prices remained weak in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana, while prices remained strong in Madhya Pradesh (MP), Uttar Pradesh (UP), and Rajasthan.
42% Conditioned Mustard
The price of 42% conditioned mustard declined by Rs. 200 to Rs. 6,900 per quintal in Delhi, while it improved by Rs. 50 to Rs. 7,150 per quintal in Jaipur.
The price of normal average quality mustard seeds remained soft by Rs. 25-50 per quintal in Gujarat and Rs. 50-00 per quintal in Haryana. In Madhya Pradesh's Morena market, prices rose by Rs. 150 to Rs. 6,700 per quintal, with prices rising by Rs. 75-75 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Similarly, prices rose by ₹100-₹200 per quintal in various markets across Rajasthan. In Bharatpur, prices rose by ₹135 to ₹6,810, and in Alwar, by ₹100 to ₹6,900 per quintal.
Mustard Oil
Due to strong demand for mustard oil, prices improved by ₹1-₹2 per kg. Expeller prices in Delhi rose by ₹20 to ₹1,460 per 10 kg, and crude oil prices in Kota rose by ₹30 to ₹1,550 per 10 kg. Crude mustard oil prices in Agra also rose by ₹30 per 10 kg.
Price
Mustard prices are trading above the minimum support price in markets across major producing states, and favorable weather conditions are expected to increase the acreage of this most important oilseed crop of the Rabi season.
Sowing
The mustard sowing season has begun. This year, good monsoon rains have provided sufficient moisture in the soil. Mustard cake and DOC saw strong trading during the week, leading to higher prices. Chinese importers are showing strong interest in purchasing. Domestic demand is moderate.
