Limited price fluctuations amidst sluggish trading
New Delhi: Mustard prices saw minor fluctuations of ₹25 per quintal during the week of June 27–July 3, driven by limited buying from oil millers, traders, and stockists, alongside normal market arrivals.
42% Condition Mustard
The price of 42% condition mustard remained steady at ₹7,600 per quintal in Delhi, while in Jaipur, it dropped by ₹25 to settle at ₹7,900 per quintal.
Mustard
Although prices for average quality mustard rose by ₹75 per quintal in Deesa (Gujarat) and by ₹150 and ₹100 per quintal in Adampur and Hisar (Haryana) respectively, other markets in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan saw only marginal fluctuations of ₹25 per quintal. In fact, since mustard prices in most markets have already reached very high levels, millers and traders are exercising caution in their procurement.
Mustard Oil
However, prices for expeller and *Kachchi Ghani* (cold-pressed) mustard oil remained stable or saw an increase of ₹10–20 per 10 kg. In Delhi, the price of expeller oil rose by ₹10 to ₹1,560 per 10 kg, while in Ganganagar, it increased by ₹20 to ₹1,540 per 10 kg. Bharatpur saw a ₹20 rise in the prices of both varieties of mustard oil. The price of *Kachchi Ghani* oil also increased by ₹20 in Alwar.
Arrivals
Average daily mustard arrivals in the wholesale markets of major producing states have declined to the range of 3.50–4.50 lakh bags (50 kg per bag). During the week under review, mustard arrivals in these markets stood at 3.50 lakh bags on June 27, 4.50 lakh bags each on June 29 and 30, 4 lakh bags on July 1, and 3.50 lakh bags each on July 2 and 3.
Mustard Oil Cake (DOC)
Prices of mustard oil cake and DOC softened due to reduced demand; however, this decline remained limited.
