Moong prices fluctuate due to weak demand
New Delhi. Moong prices fluctuated during the current week due to sluggish buying and selling. This year, a good increase was seen in the sowing area of moong due to favorable weather. Along with Karnataka, sporadic arrival of new moong has started in some markets of Maharashtra as well. Currently, moong crop is strong in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Due to weak buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices fluctuated by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs. 8000/8525 per quintal at the weekend.
Rajasthan
Due to sluggish demand, no increase or decrease was observed in the prices of moong in the markets of Rajasthan during the current week and the prices at the weekend remained at Jodhpur Rs. 6300/7700, Jaipur Rs. 7400/8450, Merta Rs. 7000/8000, Sumerpur Rs. 7000/7800, Nagaur Rs. 7300/7800 and Kishangarh Rs. 7000/7800 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to sluggish demand, a fall of Rs. 100/150 per quintal was observed in the prices of moong in Madhya Pradesh during the current week and the prices at the weekend remained at Pipariya Rs. 6000/8100, Indore Rs. 7800/8000, Kareli Rs. 6800/8101, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/7800 and Khirkhia Rs. 7900/8100 per quintal.
Karnataka
The arrival of new moong increased in the producing markets. With the arrival of new moong, the selling pressure increased due to which the prices of Karnataka moong declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 6800/8100, Bidar Rs. 7009 and Gadag Rs. 6800/8500 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish demand, the prices of Maharashtra moong declined by Rs. 400/500 per quintal during the current week and at the end of the week, the prices remained at Latur Rs. 8000/8200, Akola Rs. 7400/9700, Barshi Rs. 6000/8000, Ahmednagar Rs. 6500/8500 and Washim Rs. 6800/7250 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all round decline and sluggish demand, Jagraon moong of Punjab witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this decline the price remained at Rs. 6000/8100 per quintal. Due to sluggish demand, no movement was seen in the prices of Gujarat moong this week and prices remained stable.
Moong Dal
Due to the impact of decline in moong and weak demand, the prices of moong dal witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Delhi Rs. 10400/13100, Jodhpur Rs. 9950/10250, Jaipur Rs. 10100, Bhatapara Rs. 9800/10300, Jalgaon Rs. 10400 and Indore Rs. 9000/10600 per quintal.
