Gram prices continue to fluctuate as demand remains limited
New Delhi. The gram market remained volatile during the current week. Buying remained calm due to low interest of buyers at high prices. Due to which prices could not get permanent support. The demand for gram dal remained limited, due to which dal millers also kept away from buying.
For the last three months, there has been a continuous decline in the import of gram, due to which the stock of imported gram at major ports is decreasing. Due to the decrease in imports, the total stock of gram at Kandla, Mundra and Hazira ports has come down to 3,67,501 tonnes till August 1. If the same situation of import remains and domestic demand improves, then prices can be seen rising further. Due to limited buying by dal millers, prices of Delhi gram witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 50/75 per quintal this week and with this fluctuation, the prices remained at Madhya Pradesh line Rs. 6275/6300 and Rajasthan line Rs. 6325/6350 per quintal at the end of the week.
Port
Due to weak availability of imported gram at the port and improvement in demand, prices of imported gram witnessed an increase of Rs. 25/50 per quintal this week. And with this increase, the prices became Mumbai Tanzania Rs. 6225/6250, Nawasheva Australia Rs. 6350/6375 and Mundra Rs. 6175/6200 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to sluggish demand from dal millers and stockists, Rajasthan gram prices witnessed a rise and fall of Rs 25/50 per quintal this week and with this rise and fall, the prices at the weekend remained Jodhpur Rs 5300/5825, Jaipur Rs 6350, Bikaner Rs 5900/6100, Kishangarh Rs 5850/5900 and Kota Rs 5400/5825 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish buying and selling, Maharashtra gram prices witnessed a rise and fall of Rs 50/75 per quintal during the current week and with this rise and fall, the prices at the weekend remained Solapur Rs 5800/6700, Latur Rs 6300/6400, Akola Rs 6450, Nagpur Rs 6450/6475 and Ahmednagar Rs 6000/6200 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to continued buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh gram witnessed a rise and fall of Rs. 50/100 per quintal this week and with this rise and fall, the prices at the weekend reached Ashoknagar Rs. 5900/6000, Ganjbasoda Rs. 5600/6000, Sagar Rs. 5700/6000, Katni Rs. 6250/6300 and Indore Rs. 6250/6450 per quintal.
Others
Due to increased buying, prices of Raipur gram witnessed a rise of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices reached Rs. 6150/6450 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, prices of Kanpur gram also improved by Rs. 25 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6400 per quintal at the weekend.
Gram Dal
Due to limited demand, prices of Gram Dal witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and with this fluctuation, the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 7375/7750, Bhatapara Rs. 7500/7650, Katni Rs. 7700, Gulbarga Rs. 7600/7800, Jalgaon Rs. 7800/8200, Indore Rs. 7800, Jaipur Rs. 7350 and Kanpur Rs. 7250/7300 per quintal.
