Tur Procurement Continues in Producing States
★ Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for 2024–25, the government has approved the procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masur equivalent to 100% of the states' total production.
★ For the Kharif 2024–25 season, the Agriculture Minister approved procurement of 13.22 lakh metric tonnes of Tur in nine states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
★ In Andhra Pradesh, the procurement period has been extended by 30 days, now continuing until the 22nd of next month.
As of April 22, a total of 3.92 lakh metric tonnes of Tur has been procured in five states.
