Pigeon Pea (Tur) – International and Domestic Market Situation
International Market
★ The CNF prices of Myanmar pigeon peas were at $648 per tonne on October 29, 2025, which rose to $760 per tonne over the next 15 days and are currently trading around $740 per tonne.

Domestic Market (India)
★ In Chennai, lemon tur prices were Rs. 6,150 per quintal in September 2025, which increased to Rs. 6,625 per quintal on October 31 and are now trading at Rs. 6,650 per quintal.
★ In Mumbai, lemon tur was priced at Rs. 6,650 per quintal in September 2025, Rs. 6,675 on October 31, and is now trading again at Rs. 6,650 per quintal.

Import and Export Scenario
★ Between April and August 2025, India imported a total of 3.24 lakh tonnes of tur, compared to 3.64 lakh tonnes during the same period in 2024.
★ Myanmar exported 3.08 lakh tonnes of pigeon peas between January and October 2025, higher than 2.65 lakh tonnes during the same period last year.
★ Exports in October 2025 were the highest of the year at 50,037 tonnes.

Indian Crop Condition and Future Outlook
★ Heavy rains in key producing states such as Karnataka and Maharashtra have affected the pigeon pea crop.
★ This has led to an improvement in domestic market prices.
★ As mentioned in earlier reports, due to crop damage in India, exporters have increased their sales, resulting in higher international prices as well.
★ Going forward, pigeon pea prices are expected to rise further.
