News Capsule: Wheat Procurement in Madhya Pradesh Crosses 101 Lakh Tonnes Under MSP
★ Madhya Pradesh has procured more than 101 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from 1.31 million farmers under the MSP programme so far, surpassing the state’s target of 100 lakh tonnes. During the same period last year, procurement in the state stood at around 78 lakh tonnes.
★ To support farmers, the procurement period for those who have already booked slots has been extended until May 28.
★ Across India, total wheat procurement has reached 342 lakh tonnes so far, compared to 297 lakh tonnes during the same period last year. Out of the total procurement, around 110 lakh tonnes is FAQ-grade wheat, while 232 lakh tonnes is URS-grade wheat.
