News Capsule: Non-Basmati Rice and Pulses Drive India's Agri Exports 14% Higher in Q1
★ India's exports of APEDA-monitored agricultural products rose 14% year-on-year to $7.64 billion during the April–June quarter of FY 2026-27, compared with $6.71 billion in the same period last year.
★ Non-basmati rice exports increased 12% in value to $1.59 billion, while export volumes surged 32% to 4.38 million tonnes. Pulses exports also recorded strong growth, rising 52% to $363.77 million during the quarter.
★ However, basmati rice exports declined 3% to $1.44 billion due to lower shipment volumes. Exports of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, dairy products, groundnut, guar gum and poultry products also registered a decline during the quarter.
