News Capsule: Coriander Market Remains Bullish as Tight Supplies and Record NCDEX Prices Support Sentiment
★ The coriander market remained firm throughout July 2026, supported by limited availability and strong underlying fundamentals. In Rajasthan's key Ramganj Mandi, Eagle variety coriander prices rose from ₹14,900 per quintal on July 1 to a monthly high of ₹15,500 per quintal during the second week of July. Prices later witnessed mild profit-booking and remained stable around ₹15,300 per quintal between July 25 and 30.
★ A similar trend was seen in Baran Mandi, where Eagle variety prices increased from ₹14,700 per quintal on July 1 to a peak of ₹15,300 per quintal, before closing the month at around ₹15,200 per quintal.
★ The primary driver behind the rally is the tight supply situation. Last year's coriander crop was affected by adverse weather, resulting in lower production and limited carryover stocks. Although higher prices have reduced export demand, domestic availability remains constrained, continuing to support the market.
★ The new crop is still several months away. Meanwhile, the developing El Niño conditions and uneven monsoon rainfall could reduce soil moisture, which may affect crop productivity. However, it is still too early to make any firm assessment regarding the upcoming harvest.
★ At the same time, the current attractive prices are expected to encourage farmers to expand coriander acreage, and sowing could reach a record level in the coming season. Even so, the market is likely to remain supported until fresh supplies arrive.
★ Bullish fundamentals have also pushed NCDEX coriander futures to record highs, reflecting positive market sentiment.
★ Considering the tight availability, low carryover stocks, strong futures market, and the distant arrival of the new crop, coriander prices are expected to remain firm and may witness further upside in the coming months.
