Mumbai: During the initial 11 months of the fiscal year 2025-26 (April 2025–February 2026)—compared to the corresponding period of FY 2024-25—India's gross exports of oil meal (DOC) declined by 11 percent, dropping from 39.33 lakh tonnes to 34.94 lakh tonnes.
However, a notable highlight of this period is that Mundra Port has surpassed Kandla to claim the top position in terms of DOC export shipments.
During the period under review, oil meal exports surged from Mundra Port—jumping from 8.62 lakh tonnes to 13.17 lakh tonnes—and rose from Kolkata Port, increasing from 12,000 tonnes to 91,000 tonnes.
Conversely, shipments declined from other ports: falling from 13.39 lakh tonnes to 5.87 lakh tonnes at Kandla Port; slipping from 38,000 tonnes to 37,000 tonnes at Pipavav; dropping from 6.41 lakh
tonnes to 6.15 lakh tonnes at Mumbai/JNPT; and decreasing from 10.41 lakh tonnes to 8.47 lakh tonnes across other ports in the country. Exports of rice bran extraction from Kolkata Port have also begun to gain momentum.
