चीनी उत्पादन 262.1 लाख टन पहुंचा, 10% की बढ़ोतरी; MSP बढ़ाने की मांग तेज
★ISMA के ताजा आंकड़ों के अनुसार, चालू 2025-26 चीनी विपणन वर्ष में 15 मार्च तक देश का कुल चीनी उत्पादन बढ़कर 262.1 लाख टन हो गया है, जो पिछले वर्ष की समान अवधि के 237.2 लाख टन के मुकाबले करीब 10.5% अधिक है।
★इस सीजन का अब तक का उत्पादन पिछले पूरे 2024-25 विपणन वर्ष के कुल 261.2 लाख टन को भी पार कर चुका है, जबकि सीजन अभी अंतिम चरण में है।
★देश में 15 मार्च तक 157 चीनी मिलें संचालन में थीं, जबकि 379 मिलें बंद हो चुकी हैं, जिससे संकेत मिलता है कि सीजन अब अपने अंतिम दौर में पहुंच रहा है।
★राज्यवार उत्पादन (लाख टन में)
★महाराष्ट्र: 98.4 लाख टन (पिछले साल 78.7 लाख टन)
उत्तर प्रदेश: 81.3 लाख टन
कर्नाटक: 46.0 लाख टन
★ISMA ने कहा कि बढ़ती उत्पादन लागत और कम एक्स-मिल कीमतों के कारण मिलों पर नकदी का दबाव बढ़ रहा है। इसका असर किसानों के भुगतान पर भी दिख रहा है।
★कर्नाटक के कुछ मिल जून–सितंबर के विशेष सीजन में फिर से चालू हो सकते हैं, जिससे कुल उत्पादन में और इजाफा संभव है।

Sugar output reaches 26.21 million tonnes, up 10%; MSP hike demand intensifies
★According to the latest data from the ISMA, India’s sugar production in the ongoing 2025–26 marketing year has reached 26.21 million tonnes as of March 15, up about 10.5% from 23.72 million tonnes in the same period last year.
★The output so far has already surpassed the total production of 26.12 million tonnes recorded in the entire 2024–25 marketing year, even as the current season is now in its final phase.
★As of March 15, a total of 157 sugar mills were operational, while 379 mills had closed, indicating that the crushing season is nearing completion.
★State-wise production (in million tonnes):
★Maharashtra: 9.84 million tonnes (7.87 million tonnes last year)
Uttar Pradesh: 8.13 million tonnes
Karnataka: 4.60 million tonnes
★ISMA noted that rising production costs and lower ex-mill realisations are putting pressure on mill cash flows, which is also impacting timely payments to farmers.
★Some mills in Karnataka are expected to resume operations during the special season from June to September, which may further add to the total output.
