International Wheat Market
The upcoming week is expected to remain dry across the Southern Plains, with drought conditions likely persisting through March 20 in most parts of Texas (TX) and parts of Kansas (KS) and Oklahoma (OK).
According to this morning's planting intentions report from Stats Canada, wheat planting in Canada is projected to rise by 2.6% in 2025, reaching 27.475 million acres. Most of this increase is attributed to spring wheat, which is estimated at 19.42 million acres — a 2.5% year-over-year rise. Meanwhile, the durum wheat area is expected to remain steady at 6.36 million acres.
Ahead of the USDA’s weekly Export Sales report on Thursday morning, traders expect old crop wheat sales to be between 275,000 and 650,000 metric tons (MT). Sales for the 2025/26 marketing year are estimated between 0 and 100,000 MT.
Additionally, Algeria purchased wheat through a tender on Wednesday, with traders estimating the volume to be between 500,000 and 650,000 metric tons.
