International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures showed renewed strength on Wednesday, posting gains of 72 to 100 points and ending the day on a firm note.
Crude oil futures also rose by $1.44 per barrel, providing some support to the cotton market, while the U.S. Dollar Index climbed by $0.227.
On Tuesday, The Seam’s online auction reported the sale of 5,072 bales at an average price of 63.56 cents per pound.
The Cotlook A Index also rose by 25 points on March 11, reaching 77.95 cents per pound.
ICE cotton stocks remained steady on Tuesday, March 11, with certified stocks reported at 14,488 bales.
Last Thursday afternoon, the USDA reduced the Adjusted World Price (AWP) by 201 points, setting it at 51.88 cents per pound. This price is scheduled to be updated again on the upcoming Thursday.
