Canada Pulses Market Update
Peas
★ Harvesting of early crops has begun in some regions. Recent rainfall has benefitted the crop, leading to increased production estimates.
★ Old crop yellow pea bids are around \$9–\$9.50/bushel, green peas at \$13, and maple peas at \$11–\$12/bushel.
★ During peak harvest, prices of old and new crops may align.
★ Exporters are waiting for the new crop. Imports to India are expected to start in October, and prices are likely to rise until then.

Kabuli Chickpeas
★ Per-hectare yields are improving, supported by favorable weather conditions.
★ Chickpea size is reportedly better than last year.
★ Kabuli chickpea bids are currently around 30–32 cents/pound.

★ A continued bearish trend in prices, as expectations for a good crop remain strong.
★ Rainfall at the end of July will benefit productivity.
★ Weather in Saskatchewan is favorable for the crop.

★ Large green lentils (#2) are trading at 33–35 cents, small green at 26–28 cents, and red lentils at 28–29 cents per pound. The market is eagerly awaiting the new crop.
