USDA increased 2025/26 US ending stocks by 57 million bushels to 901 million bushels. This was mainly due to a 58-million-bushel rise in production, reported at 1.985 billion bushels in the September 30 Small Grains Summary. Demand side figures remained unchanged.
World ending stocks rose by 7.37 MMT to 271.43 MMT. This came as global production was raised by 12.69 MMT to 828.89 MMT, with increases from Argentina (+2.5 MMT), Australia (+1.5 MMT), Canada (+1 MMT), Russia (+1.5 MMT) and the US.
The USDA also released the backlog of daily export sales from the shutdown period, which included 110,000 MT of white wheat sold to Bangladesh on October 2.
According to FranceAgriMer, 89% of France’s soft wheat crop has been planted, with 98% rated in good/excellent condition. Durum wheat planting was estimated at 44%, up from 23% last week.
