Tuvar prices continue to fall due to lack of demand

Mumbai. Tuvar prices continued to fall during the current week as demand remained sluggish. Due to lack of demand for Tuvar dal, the buying of Tuvar by dal millers has remained very quiet, due to which there is pressure on the prices of Tuvar. Tuvar sowing is going on in full swing this year in the country due to the weather being favorable for the crop. Till July 26, Tuvar sowing was done in 38.53 lakh hectares in the country, which is 9.80 lakh hectares more than the same period last year. Seeing the imposition of stock limit and increasing sowing, stockists and importers increased the selling of Tuvar, due to which a continuous decline is being seen in the prices of Tuvar. Due to sluggish demand, Chennai Tuvar Lemon witnessed a fall of Rs. 250 per quintal this week and with this fall, the price of lemon remained at Rs. 10600/10650 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai African Tuvar also witnessed a sharp fall of Rs. 400/600 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs. 10200/10300 for Mozambique White, Rs. 10000/10100 for Gajari, Rs. 9900/10000 and Sudan New Rs. 11200 per quintal at the weekend.

Burma

Due to weak export demand, a fall of $ 30 per ton was recorded in Burma Tuvar this week and with this fall, the price remained at $ 1355 per ton at the weekend.

Delhi

Due to the fall in demand at the port, Delhi Tuvar Lemon witnessed a fall of Rs. 200 and Desi Tuvar witnessed a fall of Rs. 300 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Rs. 11050 for Lemon, Rs. 11300 for Maharashtra Line and Rs. 11400 per quintal for Karnataka Line.

Maharashtra

Due to lack of buyers, the prices of Maharashtra Tuvar remained sluggish by Rs. 200/400 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend remained at Rs. 10700/11800 for Solapur, Rs. 11500/11650 for Akola, Rs. 11600/11650 for Nagpur, Rs. 11600 for Hinganghat, Rs. 9500/10550 and Ahmednagar Rs. 11200/11400 per quintal.

Karnataka

Due to sluggish demand from dal millers, Karnataka tuvar prices have fallen by Rs. 200/400 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Gulbarga Rs. 11400/11600, Raichur Rs. 10023/10859, Yadgir Rs. 10839/11409 and Talikota Rs. 11160 per quintal.

Madhya Pradesh

Due to increase in selling and sluggish buying, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices have fallen by Rs. 200/500 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Katni Rs. 11700/11800, Jabalpur Rs. 8000/10900, Pipariya Rs. 10000/10500 and Kareli Rs. 9900/10500 per quintal.

Others

Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, Raipur Tuvar registered a decline of Rs. 400 per quintal and with this decline the price remained at Rs. 11700/12000 per quintal at the end of the week. Similarly, Kanpur Tuvar also declined by Rs. 200 per quintal during the current week and remained at Rs. 10400 per quintal at the end of the week.

Tuvar Dal

Due to the fall in prices of Tuvar and calm demand, prices of Tuvar Dal have fallen by Rs. 200/400 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 115950/16450, Katni Fatka Rs. 15450/15650, Akola Rs. 15600/17200, Latur Fatka Rs. 16600/16800, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 15700/16400 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 16400/16700 per quintal.
