Moong prices rise due to better buying
New Delhi. Moong prices rose this week due to weak selling and increased buying. Moong sowing has already begun for Kharif crop. Moong sowing may be more this year than last year due to timely arrival of monsoon. Demand for moong for seeds remains good. Which is supporting the rising prices. Due to increased buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices rose by Rs. 200 per quintal this week and with this increase the price reached Rs. 8000/8550 per quintal at the weekend. Rajasthan
Due to normal demand, prices of moong have improved by Rs. 100 per quintal in Rajasthan mandis during the current week and with this improvement, the prices at the weekend have become Jodhpur Rs. 6400/8000, Jaipur Rs. 7500/8300, Merta Rs. 8000/8500, Sumerpur Rs. 7000/8000, Nagaur Rs. 7500/8100 and Kishangarh Rs. 7000/7500 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
At present, there is a good inflow of moong in the producing mandis. Madhya Pradesh: Due to increase in demand from all quarters, prices of moong have increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and with this increase, the prices at the weekend became Rs. 7000/7900 for Pipariya, Rs. 8000/8100 for Indore, Rs. 5800/8000 for Kareli, Rs. 6500/7650 for Jabalpur and Rs. 7900/8200 per quintal for Khirkhia.
Karnataka: Due to sluggish demand, prices of Karnataka moong have fallen by Rs. 200 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend became Rs. 7500/8600 for Gulbarga, Rs. 5619/7999 for Bidar and Rs. 6380/7500 per quintal for Yadgir. Maharashtra
Due to increased selling and weak buying, Maharashtra moong prices declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Latur Rs. 8000/8700, Akola Rs. 7650/10600, Barshi Rs. 8000/9000, Jalgaon Rs. 8100/10800, Ahmednagar Rs. 7000/9500 and Washim Rs. 7300/7750 per quintal.
Others
Due to support of all round rise and increased buying, Rajkot moong prices rose by Rs. 500 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices reached Rs. 8000/10000 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, the prices of Lalitpur moong registered an increase of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this increase, the price became Rs. 7500/7650 per quintal at the weekend.
Moong Dal
Due to the support of the rise in moong and improvement in demand, the prices of moong dal saw an improvement of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this improvement, the price became Rs. 10450/13400 in Delhi, Rs. 10600 in Jodhpur, Rs. 10500 in Jalgaon and Rs. 9600/10600 per quintal at the weekend.
