Gram prices rise due to better buying

New Delhi. Gram prices remained bullish this week due to weakening of selling at low prices and better buying. However, buying remained somewhat calm over the weekend. Due to which a slight softening was recorded in the prices. In its new report, ABARES has estimated domestic production of 11 lakh tonnes of gram during the 2024-25 season. In the ABARES report, the sowing area of ​​all winter pulses crops in Australia is expected to increase by 17 percent compared to last year and reach 25 lakh hectares this time. Under this, there is a possibility of good increase in the area of ​​​​gram and lentils. Farmers are expected to get huge profits from the rise in gram this year. Apart from this, the weather is also favorable for sowing gram in major producing provinces like Queensland and New South Wales. This time the production of gram there is estimated to increase by 133 percent compared to last year. This week the C&F prices of Australia gram increased by $ 20 to $ 870 for ready and $ 880 for November-December per tonne. Due to improved demand from dal millers, Delhi gram prices increased by Rs 75/100 per quintal this week and with this increase, the prices reached Rs 7125/7150 for Madhya Pradesh line and Rs 7175/7225 per quintal at the end of the week in Rajasthan line.

Port

Due to support of the rise in Desi gram and increased buying, the prices of Mumbai Tanzania gram increased by Rs 150 per quintal this week and the prices reached Rs 6600 per quintal at the end of the week. Similarly, Australia gram also increased by Rs 100 per quintal this week and the prices reached Rs 7000 per quintal at the end of the week.

Rajasthan

Due to increased demand from dal millers, Rajasthan gram prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Jodhpur Rs. 5650/6650, Jaipur Rs. 7200/7250, Bikaner Rs. 6750/6800, Kishangarh Rs. 6600 and Kota Rs. 6200/6525 per quintal.

Maharashtra

Due to weak selling and increased buying by dal millers, Maharashtra gram prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Solapur Rs. 6200/7150, Akola Rs. 7025/7050, Nagpur Rs. 7050, Udgir Rs. 6000/6800 and Ahmednagar Rs. 6700/6900 per quintal.

Madhya Pradesh

Due to calm selling and strong buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh gram witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Ashoknagar Rs. 6700/6850, Bina Rs. 6600/6750, Ganjbasoda Rs. 6500/6800, Katni Rs. 7000/7075 and Indore Rs. 7150/7200 per quintal.

Karnataka

Due to sporadic buying, prices of Karnataka gram witnessed a rise of Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and prices at the weekend became Gulbarga Rs. 6500/7100, Bidar Rs. 6605/6913, Gadag Rs. 6617/6906 and Raichur Rs. 6123/6811 per quintal.

Others

Due to support of all round uptrend and increased buying, Raipur gram saw a rise of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6900/7000 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kanpur gram also saw a rise of Rs. 75 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 7150 per quintal at the weekend.

Gram dal

During the current week, with the support of uptrend in gram, prices of gram dal registered a rise of Rs. 200/300 per quintal and with this increase, prices reached Delhi Rs. 8250/8600, Bhatapara Rs. 8300/8500, Katni Rs. 8350, Gulbarga Rs. 8100/8200, Jalgaon Rs. 8400, Indore Rs. 8300/8500 and Kanpur Rs. 7800/7850 per quintal.
