Gram prices fall due to increased selling pressure and weak demand
New Delhi. Gram prices declined this week due to increased profit booking and sluggish customer demand. Sales of gram dal and gram flour remained weak at high prices. Due to which the buying of dal millers in gram remained cold and pressure was seen on prices. The weather was largely favorable for sowing of gram in Queensland and northern New South Wales of Australia and there was good rain on time. Abares has expressed the possibility of gram production in Australia during the 2024-25 season to jump from 7.30 lakh tonnes to 11.50 lakh tonnes, faba beans production to improve from 2.74 lakh tonnes to 5.15 lakh tonnes and lentil production to jump from 8.85 lakh tonnes to 16 lakh tonnes as compared to March estimates.
