New Delhi: The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)—a body under the Union Ministry of Commerce—has invited tenders from interested parties for the export of 805.05 tonnes of sugar to the European Union under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) system for the 2025-26 marketing season. Quotas will be allocated to eligible exporters. Under this process, sealed bids must reach APEDA's office in New Delhi by May 12, 2026.
According to a Trade Notice issued by APEDA, a total export quota of 5,851 tonnes of sugar to the European Union under the TRQ system has been authorized for the entire 2025-26 marketing season. A Public Notice regarding this had already been issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
The current quota of 805.05 tonnes—for which bids are now being invited from exporters—constitutes the remaining balance of the aforementioned total quota. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed cover, clearly superscribed with the text: "Tender for obtaining sugar export quota to the EU under the TRQ Scheme for the 2025-26 season." The received tenders will be opened at APEDA's office on May 12 at 3:30 PM.
