Kochi: The Indian Spice Board has canceled the dealer's license issued to a cardamom dealer for violating the rules and regulations.
The dealer, with trade code 253, was found guilty of violating the "Cardamom Licensing and Marketing Rules," 1987.
According to the Cardamom Licensing and Marketing (CLM) Rules, only registered dealers are permitted to purchase cardamom from registered producers and plantation owners and participate in the cardamom auction process.
With the cancellation of the dealer's license, this firm will no longer be authorized to participate in cardamom auctions or purchase cardamom from producers.
In light of this, the Spice Board has advised all authorized cardamom auctioneers and registered producers not to conduct any business with this dealer or maintain any trade relations with them.
A press release issued by the Spice Board stated that this action was taken against the dealer to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations governing the cardamom auction business and to maintain complete transparency.
Adherence to statutory regulations is equally necessary for everyone, and no one can be exempted or given any concession.
Such action is considered necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the cardamom marketing and auction process.
