★ According to the NASS report, U.S. soybean planting reached 87% completion in the week ending May 31. About 65% of the crop has emerged, and 66% of the crop is rated in good condition.
★ According to the NASS report, 218 million bushels of soybeans were crushed in the United States during April, which is 4.4 million bushels higher than in March. Total soybean crushing for the season has now reached 1.7 billion bushels. Soybean stocks declined by 6.2%.
★ According to the USDA, the United States exported 500,000 metric tons of soybeans in the week ending May 28, which is 64% higher than the same period last year.
★ The largest importers were:
China: 200,000 tons
Egypt: 110,000 tons
Japan: 80,000 tons
★ During the current marketing season (September 1 to May 28), total U.S. soybean exports reached 35.65 million metric tons, which is 20% lower than last year.
★ According to StoneX, Brazil’s soybean production could increase by 180,000 metric tons from the previous estimate, reaching 181.8 million metric tons.
