According to NOPA data, 197.86 million bushels of soybeans were crushed during September, far exceeding the estimate of 186.34 million bushels. This was 4.24% higher than in August and 11.59% above last September’s record. Soybean oil stocks were 0.17% lower than the end of August at 1.24 billion lbs, but still 16.6% higher than last year.
Due to the government shutdown and holiday delay, the Export Sales report scheduled for Friday will not be released. Traders still estimate soybean sales for the week ending October 9 between 0.4 and 1.4 million metric tons. Soybean meal sales are expected between 150,000 and 400,000 metric tons, and soyoil sales between 5,000 and 30,000 metric tons.
