News Capsule: Brazil Expects Record Soybean Exports to China
★ Brazilian soybean exports to China are expected to remain historically strong in the coming months, supported by record production and ample supplies.
★ In June, China imported 120.8 lakh tonnes of soybeans from Brazil, up 13.7% from last year. In contrast, Chinese imports from the US fell 20.9% to 12.7 lakh tonnes.
★ Brazil’s total soybean exports reached a record 695.7 lakh tonnes in the first half of 2026. The country harvested a record soybean crop of around 1,806 lakh tonnes this year, while full-year exports are forecast at a record 1,163 lakh tonnes.
★ In 2025, China purchased around 854 lakh tonnes of Brazilian soybeans, accounting for nearly 79% of Brazil’s total soybean exports. Strong Chinese demand and ample Brazilian supplies are expected to keep shipments firm in the coming months
