★ According to the NASS report, U.S. corn (maize) planting reached 93% completion by May 31, which is 2% ahead of last year. About 67% of the crop is rated in good condition.
★ According to the NASS report, 427 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production in April, which is 1% higher than the same period last year.
★ A USDA agency reported that the United States exported 1.75 million metric tons of corn by the end of May 28. The largest buyers were:
Japan: 592,000 tons
Mexico: 430,000 tons
Colombia: 150,000 tons
★ During the 2025–26 marketing season (September 1 to May 28), U.S. corn exports reached 62 million metric tons, which is 23% higher than last year.
