ICE cotton futures saw mixed trade on Wednesday, with nearby contracts ranging from 10 points lower to 14 points higher. Crude oil futures rose by USD 1.10 per barrel during the day to USD 63.49 per barrel. The US dollar index rebounded by 0.144 points to 96.195 after the sharp decline seen on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, The Seam’s online auction reported sales of 10,023 bales at an average price of 56.06 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index declined by 75 points on January 27 to 73.30 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 2 bales on January 27, taking total certified stocks to 8,597 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated last week to 50.99 cents per pound, down 18 points from the previous week.
