International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures fell another 50 to 75 points on Tuesday. Crude oil rose by 32 cents to $68.25 per barrel, and the U.S. Dollar Index increased by $0.014 to 97.155.
Weekly Crop Progress data showed 48% of the U.S. cotton crop had squared and 14% was setting bolls, both 1% behind average. Condition ratings were up 1% to 52% good/excellent, with the Brugler500 index steady at 336. Ratings were unchanged in Texas, while Georgia improved by 9 points.
The Cotlook A Index was unchanged at 79.15 on July 7. ICE certified cotton stocks fell by 2,335 bales via decertification on July 7, leaving total certified stocks at 37,989 bales.
USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) rose by 116 points on Thursday afternoon to 55.34 cents per pound.
