Weekend rains are expected across parts of Eastern Iowa (IA), Southern Wisconsin/Michigan (WI/MI), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), and Ohio (OH).
According to the CFTC report released on Friday afternoon, managed money funds increased their net long position in corn futures and options by 75,490 contracts during the week ending July 28. As of Tuesday, their total net long position stood at 168,399 contracts.
USDA Export Sales data showed old-crop corn sales at 86.975 million metric tons (MMT), representing 103% of the USDA's export forecast and running ahead of the average pace seen in recent years. Total shipments have reached 76.373 MMT, accounting for 90% of the USDA's export projection. New-crop corn sales stand at 8.624 MMT, up 0.1% from the same period last year.
