India’s Spice Exports Rise 21% During April–August: Spices Board of India
★ During April–August 2025, India’s total spice exports increased by 21% compared to the same period last year. Total exports stood at 798,475 tonnes, up from 658,365 tonnes in the previous year.

Performance of Major Spices:
★ Cumin (Jeera) – Exports stood at 92,810 tonnes, down 17% from last year.
★ Turmeric – Recorded a 3% increase with 80,157 tonnes exported.
★ Fennel – Saw a steep decline of 66%, with exports dropping to just 15,670 tonnes.
★ Coriander – Up 11% with 27,913 tonnes exported.
★ Garlic – Increased 20% to 20,187 tonnes.
★ Other seeds – Registered a 26% rise.
★ Fenugreek – Rose 10% with exports of 20,409 tonnes.
★ Small Cardamom – Witnessed the highest jump of 75%, reaching 4,147 tonnes.
★ The sharpest growth was seen in small cardamom, while fennel recorded the steepest decline. Analysts attribute the fall in cumin and fennel exports mainly to weaker global demand and stronger competition from other producing countries, while demand for turmeric and coriander remained stable.
